Tasks & Productivity
Projects
One-line summary: how to create projects, configure auto-numbering, and bind them to pipeline templates that drive task workflows.
Overview
A project in Duwam is a container for tasks plus a workflow template. Each project has:
- An auto-generated number (e.g.,
PRJ-2026-014) following your company's numbering pattern. - An optional folder for organizing many projects (by client, department, period).
- A pipeline — the sequence of stages every task in the project moves through (e.g., Plan → Design → Review → Production → Approve).
- Teams bound to each stage, defining who's responsible.
Create a project
Who can? Super admin, company admin, or project manager.
Projects → "+ New project" → fill in name, description, optional folder, template (pre-built or custom pipeline), teams per stage, optional dates → Create. The auto-number is generated immediately.
Auto-numbering
Settings → Project numbering has three components:
| Component | Example | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Prefix | PRJ · INT · M |
Fixed letters at the start |
| Year | 2026 |
Auto-updates each year |
| Counter | 014 |
Increments by 1 per project; resets each year |
Result: PRJ-2026-014. The pattern is fully customizable: hide the year, change the separator, set counter padding, etc.
Changing the pattern does not renumber existing projects — they keep their numbers. The new pattern applies only going forward.
Folders
For organizing many projects: Projects → Folders → "+ New folder" → name + color → drag projects in or pick on creation. Each folder becomes a quick filter on the projects list.
Customize the pipeline
In the project page → "Pipeline" tab:
- Add stage: click "+" between any two stages or at the end.
- Edit stage name / team / expected duration.
- Reorder by drag-and-drop.
- Delete a stage (only if no real task uses it yet).
Pipeline edits affect new tasks only. Existing tasks keep the snapshot they had at creation time.
Archive a project
Project page → "… → Archive" → confirm. Archived projects are hidden from active lists but retained. They appear under Projects → Archived, where they can be restored or permanently deleted.
Permissions
| Role | Can |

See the teams & permissions guide for role details.
FAQ
Q: I changed the numbering pattern and want to renumber the old projects. Is that possible? A: No — this is to stop external references breaking (links, invoices). The new numbering is for future projects only.
Q: I deleted a project by mistake. Can I get it back? A: If you only archived it, yes — from Archived. If you deleted it permanently, no: contact support to attempt a restore from backups.
Q: Two of my projects have the same number. How? A: That doesn't happen under normal conditions. If it does, contact support — there is a fault in the numbering setup that needs diagnosing.
Q: Can I rename a project after creating it? A: Yes, at any time. The auto-number stays fixed — it doesn't change with the name.
