Planner
In one line: plan your day by dragging tasks into time slots, let Duwam suggest a smart plan, focus with Pomodoro sessions, and review what you got done at day's end.
Plan: The Planner is part of the Tasks feature, available on all plans.
Overview
The Planner is a tab inside Tasks that turns your task list into a weekly schedule. Instead of a long list, you see where each piece of work sits in your day:
- Week view or Day view — move between days.
- Each task is dragged into a time slot, giving it a start and end (a block).
- Unscheduled tasks stay in an inbox on the side, ready to drag in.
The Planner does more than display; it has four smart helpers:
- Smart Plan — suggests your day's schedule in one click.
- Focus Mode — Pomodoro sessions for a single task.
- Evening Review — a summary of what you accomplished at day's end.
- Morning briefing and handoff banner — get you ready for the day.
Tip: The Planner shows only tasks that are yours — assigned to you, ones you review, or pipeline stages you own or were handed.
Planning your day manually
Drag a task onto time
- Open Tasks, then the Planner tab.
- Choose Week or Day view from the top.
- Drag any task from the inbox onto the right time slot.
- Drag the block's edges to lengthen or shorten the duration.
A scheduled task keeps its time and shows up on its day until you move or complete it. Archived tasks never appear in the Planner.
Smart Plan
Rather than arranging your day by hand, press "Plan my day" and let Duwam propose a schedule.
How it works
- From the top of the Planner, press "Plan my day".
- Duwam reads your unscheduled tasks and ranks them by:
- Priority (urgent, then high, then normal).
- How close the due date is (overdue, then today, then tomorrow…).
- In-progress tasks and the pipeline stages you currently own.
- It lays them into the free time within your shift, around any blocks you already scheduled.
- A colored preview appears over the grid with a bar: "Suggested plan · N scheduled · M didn't fit."
Accept or dismiss
Caution: Smart Plan is a preview only — nothing is applied automatically. Your day doesn't change until you press "Accept plan."
-
Accept plan → all suggested blocks are committed at once.
-
Dismiss → the preview disappears and your day stays as it was.
-
Each task defaults to one hour, or to your time estimate if you entered one, within a range of 15 minutes to 4 hours.
-
Duwam never schedules in the past — plan today and it starts from now.
-
Completed, canceled, or already-scheduled tasks are left out of the suggestion.
Tip: Add a time estimate to a task before planning, and you get realistically sized blocks instead of a uniform hour for everything.
Focus Mode
A Pomodoro session for a single task, distraction-free.
- Open the task, then press "Focus."
- A focus screen opens showing the task and a countdown timer.
- The session alternates between focus and break, counting your completed rounds.
- The default is 25 minutes focus / 5 minutes break (classic Pomodoro).
- You can set it to whatever suits you (e.g. 50/10), and Duwam saves your preference on your device.
- Controls: pause, resume, and end the session.
Evening Review
At day's end, Duwam shows a summary of what you got done.
- It appears once a day after your shift ends (or 5 PM if you haven't set a shift).
- It summarizes: tasks completed today, and tasks deferred (scheduled today but still open).
- It offers a button to run tomorrow's Smart Plan in one click.
Note: The Evening Review won't interrupt you mid Focus session — breaking concentration is rude. It shows up afterward.
Morning briefing and handoff banner
- Morning briefing: a card at the top of the Planner that greets you by time of day and summarizes what's ahead. Shown once a day until you dismiss it.
- Handoff banner: when pipeline stages are handed to you recently, a banner appears with their count and names, plus a "Plan them" button that runs Smart Plan on the handoff tasks only.
FAQ
Q: Does Smart Plan apply itself automatically? A: No. The suggestion is a preview only, and your day doesn't change until you press "Accept plan."
Q: Why wasn't a certain task scheduled by Smart Plan? A: Either it didn't fit your shift's free time, it was already scheduled, or it's completed/canceled. Tasks that didn't fit appear in the "didn't fit" counter.
Q: How do I change the focus session length? A: From Focus Mode's settings; Duwam saves your preferred durations on your device (e.g. 50 minutes focus / 10 break).
Q: I planned my whole day, then my priorities changed. What now? A: Drag the blocks to rearrange manually, or run "Plan my day" again on the unscheduled tasks.
Q: Can my manager see my daily plan? A: The Planner is your personal tool for organizing your time. Scheduling is yours, while the tasks themselves stay visible to their owners as usual. See the Tasks guide.
